The title doesn’t really do justice to this yummy meal. It’s one of those dishes that get better each mouthful and you go back to the ingredients to try and work out exactly how the flavour was achieved! Another meal that’s great for cold winter evenings.
4 cups of water
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp hot chilli paste ( or more if you like it spicy!)
1 tbspn oil
4 tbspns tomato paste
2 cloves garlic crushed
freshly ground pepper
4 medium carrots peeled and sliced
6 potatoes chopped roughly ( it’s a rustic dinner!)
4 tomatoes quartered
1 cup shelled peas
Place water, half the cumin , chilli paste, oil, tomato paste, garlic, salt and pepper into a large saucepan.
Stir and add chicken pieces, carrots , potatoes amd tomatoes.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir in the peas , cover pan and cook for a futher 15 mins.
Stir in the remaining cumin and serve.
